My Final "Messiah" Swan Song

I have been singing as a soloist in the Mont Vernon, NH "Messiah Sing" for about 27 years. This is an annual production performed by a community of voices with orchestral accompaniment. And this year's performance on Dec 2-3, 2017 was their 30th anniversary.

Singing the Messiah has been an incredible experience for me all these years and a most beautiful way to start off the Christmas season. I have made many musical friends who have touched me with their love for Handel's Messiah and for singing together as one beautiful family of voices. It has been a wonderful ride.

This year was my last performance because my wife, Diane, and I are moving permanently to Florida in the Spring of 2018. We will be going to live in a 55+ community called "Kings Ridge" in Clermont, FL, about 25 miles west of Orlando. While visiting some friends there in September we knew that this was the place for us. I'll let you all know more later when we get closer.

I leave you with my last Messiah solo (my "Swan Song" as it were), "The Trumpet Shall Sound" which I sang on Sunday, December 3, 2017. Here it is with Daniel Farina (trumpet) and me performing our final duet.

Love to all,
John O
